John and Billy Kyburg were cleaning the Matterhorn on a Saturday in May. They kept her windows sparkling, her chrome polished, her fiberglass body cleaned and polished, and her decks swabbed (old sailor talk for mopping). The Matterhorn had become a symbol of pride for the people of Pirates Cove. It had been involved in two water rescues, and the boat used to land the biggest bluefish in the $25,000 bluefish tournament.
