Hector Hound's Puzzling Predicament

From above came the noise of flapping wings and angry screeches. Hector covered his ears with his paws. He thought the squawking would never stop. Suddenly, the door over Hector’s head flew open, and a fat clump of feathers between two huge eyes, leaned out and hooted, “Who... whoooo... whoooo’s there? Oh, it’s you, Hector. Can’t you tell time?
