Changing My Path

Changing My Path is a riveting memoir about sexual abuse the author suffered at a very young age and into her teenage years at the hands of a family member. Throughout the memoir, Raegyn describes in several counseling sessions and her journal how she often felt there was no safe place for her to hide because the abuser was always near. During elementary school days and adolescent years, Raegyn struggled to concentrate in school and grasp material that seemed to come easier to her classmates. It wasn’t until years later, after relocating to a new state, that she understood she was suffering from the effects of sexual abuse. As an adult now on her healing journey, Raegyn recognized the unresolved anger toward her abuser for placing his pain on her for so many years. In this memoir, Raegyn narrates the journey to healing of sexual abuse and the many effects sexual abuse survivors are forced to deal with and how she had to make a decision to no longer be a victim, but live in victory every day instead.
