Sesen: The Egyptian Lotus is based on true relationships between people and in families from diverse populations with a diversity of thoughts. It includes love and romance along with strong emotions, moral values, and beliefs. The female lead struggles against the expectations for her culture and family, and the discrimination of all types she finds when she settles in the United States.
