Dear friends, a forbidden love interest, and a death and life crisis change the Rev. Calline Simpson™s fundamental beliefs about herself and her God. Calling its first female pastor and, twelve years later, considering a call to an out homosexual (late 1980s), the members of High Dunes First United Congregational Church face their own crucible. Only by divine supervision and alchemy is the mid-sized congregation at Lake Michigan emboldened to sing its allelulias.
