Pediatric Atlas of Ultrasound- and Nerve Stimulation-Guided Regional Anesthesia

This title will provide a tool for pediatric anethesiologists to learn and master the skill of ultrasound and nerve stimulation for regional anesthesia in children. Currently, there is no such pediatric book on the market. Pediatric anesthesiologists must rely on their own anatomical knowledge, a few journal publications, and trial and error when placing a regional blocks with ultrasound and nerve stimulation guidance. This title will be focused on the distinct differences between pediatric and adult patients, with consideration to the unique anatomical, pharmacological, practical, and technical aspects of administering regional anesthesia to children. Pediatric Regional Anesthesia will feature ultrasound images of important anatomical sites for regional anesthesia. To enhance anatomy identification, ultrasound images will be correlated to high quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) pictures and concise anatomical drawings. In conjunction with these reference images, the text will describe how to utilize nerve stimulation to facilitate accurate ultrasound-guided regional block placement.
