Portrait of an Angel

A wannabe Bourbon Street artist experiences a divine inspiration and paints the face of an angel he insists exists beyond his imagination. Instead of using his name at the bottom, he signs it Fleur-de-Love. When his treasured portrait turns up missing, he embarks on a maddening search for truth—and his sanity. Amid a backdrop of ‘Old South’ landmarks, cemeteries, sunbaked swamps, glass-sided coffins, and pulsating jazz, he encounters Swamp Lady, Golden Goddess strippers, pawn shop Pablooo, physic Madam Tatoo, a Cajun called Jeffre, Floating Sam, Bagger, Dr. Tycomo, reporter Mark Kane, midget detective Keyhole, paddleboat Captain Merriweather, Piccolo Pete, and fortune tellers Madame Zananna and Blur Blubantee.
