Alzheimer’s disease is indeed a journey. Two things to treasure about traveling down the Alzheimer’s path is never forget that the person will always be the individual they have been even as their skills decline. The second thing to remember is don’t underestimate the power of laughter. Alzheimer’s affects not only the individual coping with changes in their memory and thinking skills, but also family and friends. Sometimes the journey can be filled with moments of stress. There are other times that it can be advantageous to recognize what others have already learned.
