Operation Code Charlie

Eighth grader Allie Somers dreams of becoming a journalist like her father, who was killed in Iraq. When a classmate runs away from home, Allie searches for him, hoping it might make a good story for the school newspaper. She finds him hiding in an old abandoned house, but he’s afraid to go home because he’s a witness to a murder. Allie investigates. The story gets more complicated when the police bring the boy home, he disappears a second time, and Allie finds herself and her friends in serious danger.
