A serendipitous meeting with a young woman in a United Nations refugee camp results in a series of events that transforms the lives of all involved. Who would have guessed that a seventeen year old girl could lead her family across six international borders to escape the devastation of war? Who would have guessed that another family, whose lives were equally shattered by the same war, would find a new and rich life in a small town in the United States?
