Why Love Hates Legalism

Legalistic Christianity is mean religion. It continually hurts multitudes of vulnerable believers, especially new ones. The spirits behind the legalistic religious systems I address in this book are the same ones that stirred up a mob in Jerusalem 2000 years ago to cry, "Crucify Him! Crucify Him!" They are still with us in 2014, hiding behind a myriad of religious masks. The masks often don't come off until they are forced to step out of the dark shadows of mean religion. Jesus deliberately provoked the Pharisees and Paul provoked the Judaizers to this end: They drew them out of the shadows of religion, into the light of authentic Christianity, in order to expose their shallowness and hypocrisy.
