Alexis grew up in a dysfunctional family controlled by alcohol, giving her a childhood filled with a naïveté that extended into adulthood and was noticeable by the people she met. They did not hesitate to add to the confusion Alexis was already experiencing in a life filled with physical, mental, and verbal abuse. The only event that gave her any peace was meeting the man of her dreams, who would never hurt a fly. Alexis vowed that one way or another she would help the many women victimized by uncaring men. She came out of her dysfunction by finding someone caring. Some women stay with an abusive person not seeing any hope. There is hope. By God’s grace, there is hope.
