Meet Rebecca, Monica and Teresa, three teenage girls who experienced terrible things in their life at an early age, leaving a lot of scars. Rebecca, a teenage girl who lost her mother at the age of seven, copes with the pain of her tragic life in ways that will lead her to the streets. Fear of being a ward of the state persuades her to run into the arms of Ronnie, the local dope boy. Once life finally feels normal, she finds out thatthe man that caused her the most pain needs her. When he leaves her behind three letters after his death, she then realizes that the life she was living was all a lie.

Monica has completely turned cold towards all relationships. When she gets into a fight with her mother, she is forced to move to Virginia to start a new life. New life brings new love and unexpected drama occurs as she is stuck in a messy love triangle. Teresa has been scarred all her life. Now being a senior in high school, she has the goal to leave Virginia and never return home. Throughout school, she has managed to stay into her books and keep a stable job to stay away from the trouble back home. But when she is unable to stay away, she is thrown into a treacherous love affair and doesn't see the light until she is staring down the barrel of a gun.
