Seventeen-year-old Jaysea Martin has been trying to find a way to fit in with the popular kids while staying true to her faith. As her view of what's right becomes more distorted, she senses that she is missing something in the conversations between her crush Derek Stetler and his friends, but she is oblivious to the fact that the joke is on her. Despite the warnings of her best friend Kayla, Jaysea ditches her Christian friends on prom night and sneaks out to attend a graduation party at cheerleading captain Lauren Johnson's house. Only after going along with the questionable habits of Derek's posse does Jaysea learn his real agenda. Just when she thinks she's learned her lesson, Jaysea's world flips upside down as she endures a heartbreak she will carry with her forever.
