Physically Touched by God is an autobiography spanning sixty years in the life of William Vitterelli. The book starts with a vision at the age of twelve. These visions would become a common occurrence throughout his life, and thinking these were normal, he never paid attention to his gift.

His goal in life was simple: Material things meant little to him. What meant a lot was to be like his father and to have a loving wife and family. This is a love story. He failed at two marriages and felt God had denied him his dream; however, his third and unexpected relationship exceeded all expectations.

Both parties needed help and aided one another. Their union led to excitement and adventure, though health issues dominated the latter part of their marriage. The exceedingly high cost of health care pushed them close to poverty. Despite their problems, love and happiness prevailed.
