Billy Oliver holding onto Memories

A heartfelt story of how a nine year old boy had his life turned upside down when his mother died. This is a very well written book that takes the reader back in time to the northwest Iowa area of the 1940’s. This is a time period that reflects how life was before cell phones, TVs, and computers. The author does a nice job of creating a narrator’s voice that is true to young Billy. As you read the book, it feels very much like you are sitting beside young Billy. You will image yourself listening directly to him tell his story. Reading this book will draw you in by the interesting stories. Finish one chapter and be anxious to read the next chapter.
