Lily and Me: Lily Sees Her Reflection in the Fireplace

Lily and Me is a series of short children stories of Lily and my most enjoyable memories. I had many enjoyable memories when I was a child (eighty years ago), reading Aesop’s Fables and the story of Narcissus and Echo. All of Aesop’s fables have moral meaning (Example: [a] The Boy Who Cried Wolf tells you not to tell lies or else nobody will listen to you and [b] The Lion and the Mouse tells you that everyone needs help and the mouse’s kindness). In Narcissus and Echo, Narcissus saw his reflection in the pool and fell in love with his reflection. Echo fell in love with Narcissus. You may hear Echo if you go out in an open space and shout “Hello,” and she will answer you.
