Reflections on a Life Well-Lived

What is in this book is a sustained reflection on significant moments in my life. Some of the experiences are relatively recent. I can recall them as if they happened just yesterday. In fact, some of them actually did happen yesterday (give or take a year or two). Others are from much further back in time but no further from my mind and heart. I hope this memoir ends up being long enough to include the events, and especially the people, who have meant the most to me during my long and well­lived life. At the same time, I hope this memoir is short and interesting enough to keep you reading and, perhaps, recalling along with me. Most of all, I offer this memoir as my sincere effort to remind many of you of the pleasures and joy that you brought me. I also want to assure the rest of you that I have not forgotten life’s unpleasantness or the responsible parties. I learned many lessons from even those experiences. I have treasured the joys and pleasures, and as I continue to seek more of those, I won’t forget them. Perhaps I could have forgotten the unpleasantness if I had tried hard enough. I am not entirely sure that I want to though. Perhaps others may learn from my failures and pain but more so, I hope, from my successes and joys.
