S.D. Gordon was a popular Christian writer best known for the “Quiet Talk” series of devotionals, of which he wrote dozens on a variety of Christian topics such as Jesus and prayer. A prolific author, he wrote more than 25 devotional books. He also traveled to Europe and Asia as a missionary. A plain man, controlled by a strong desire to edify God’s people, he won the respect of the learned and at the same time the affection of the simple.
