Herself: Talks with Women Concerning Themselves

Edith Belle Lowry was born in Austin, Minn. on 11 November 1878. She trained as a school teacher, later received a nursing degree, and in 1907 graduated from Bennett Medical College in Chicago. Lowry practiced medicine in Chicago; was the author of books on sex education, home nursing, women’s health, and motherhood; contributed articles on sex, eugenics, and health to women’s magazines; delivered popular lecture on these same topics; and was an advocate of women’s suffrage.
