Mike Parish, displaying his new detectives badge, halfheartedly steps to the gate at 1313 Cedar Creek Lane. His thoughts taking him back to a cold Halloween night many years before as an adolescent. His hand hesitating on the cold steel as it had that blistery night. "We don't go up there," his childhood friend, Brian had said.
