The Vogn Legacy

Laser fire was smacking into everything around him long before he reached the safety of the woods. Ramsey dived to the ground just as his two grenades went off. He was then rewarded by the dying screams of the five Xips that had taken shelter, at what now was, just a black hole and raining Tsath manure. He had been right, it was an outhouse. Five mutilated Xiphias corpses were showered with Tsath excrement as they lay dead. A fitting end for them as far as Ramsey was concerned. Once again, Ramsey was up and running for the trees.

Heavy laser fire slammed into the trees around Ramsey as more Xiphias showed up, looking to take part in a hunt for the human. Ramsey jumped behind a fallen log and turned towards his pursuers, loading one of his few remaining fully charged ammo magazines. Ramsey took aim at the closest group of Xiphias and fired three quick shots, taking down two Xiphias and just missing a third. The Xiphias were a very strong race, but the new UCP lasers were almost as strong as the Xiphias weapons and could cut through solid steel in the blink of an eye.
