Returning home from their first year of college, Al, and his childhood best friend, Marlon, set out on a road trip. Their destination: a camp site nestled deep in the backwoods of Tennessee. After stopping at a roadside diner for fuel and supplies, Al swears, everything happening, from their bantered dialog, to an approaching storm, and the quarter moon, how it mysteriously remains stationary no matter which direction they travel, has haunting similarities to his nightmare.

Driven by the fear of psychological disassociation, Marlon begins to believe Al. Somehow, they have exited the third dimension, their normal plain of existence, and are now living inside the boundary of the fourth dimension, Al's nightmare. In a maze of diversion, Al and Marlon discover the eerie confines of a wooden Necropolis, home to the Custodian of the Curse and an unearthly entity that feeds on human souls.

Beyond fear, Al and Marlon make a pact to watch over each other as they follow clues that ultimately lead them to a rickety shack buried deep within the forest. There they uncover an untold mystery of horror and dark truths. Molded by love, friendship, and respect, remarkably, they find their way back to their actual realities--or do they?
