Up and Down

From the Drowning:

Seeds are planted, yet flowers still die.
Clocks always ticking, yet we can’t find the time.
The kids always growing, the years flying by.
Your son’s getting married, and you’re fixing his tie.

Tomorrows are blurry, yet the past always clear.
You start breathing heavy, and your end may be near.
Thinking back through, remembering life,
And all of your chances to make her your wife.

Our time spent alive will never slow down.
It scares me to death, just like seeing no gown.
Why do I feel that there was some message I missed.
Of how to live life, while embracing your twist.

The worst part of all is you can never turn back,
Mistakes that were made you can never unpack.
The only thing left is to hold my head high,
While deep down inside sometimes wishing I’d die.
