Port Jefferson Photographs and Memories: Port Jefferson New York in the Early Twentieth Century.

Some might wonder why I created a picture book celebrating a town I haven't lived in for well over a decade. The truth is I left Port Jefferson but it never left me. During my time in Port Jefferson, I spent countless hours pouring over hundreds of photographs of it's past. This was only possible through the generosity of local history buffs that opened up their collections to me. Without them this book would not have been possible. As such I'm in their debt. As these individuals inspired me with their passion for history, they too were amazed by what was revealed when the old photos were viewed on a computer screen at high-resolution. I do hope readers appreciate the photographs of Port Jefferson contained in this book as much as I have. These photos are, I believe, to be the very best examples of a place now long gone. Enjoy!
