Folktales of the Canadian Sephardim

This collection, prepared under the auspices of the National Museum of Man contains 80 folktales, legends, and anecdotes collected by Andre Elbaz, from Moroccan Jewish immigrants in Canada.
Moroccan Sephardim have a rich oral literature which is being lost as the increasingly older Moroccan community raconteurs from the Moroccan community become unable to preserve this valuable traditional heritage of and important Canadian ethnic group from literary extinction. Illustrated with photographs.

Andre Elbaz was a writer and teacher of French and Comparative Literature at Carleton University in Ottawa.
