Future Tense: New English Fiction from Quebec

We have recently seen a resurgence in English-language writing in Quebec despite the tensions Canadians hear and read about. It may be, in fact, those tensions that most accurately mark life in Quebec today. Not that the work of English writers in Quebec is focused on the ongoing language debate. Few of the stories collected in Future Tense overtly mention language issues. But what ties these otherwise disparate stories together is an underlying uncertainty with separation.
