These are measured, crafted poems with a vernacular edge—an earthiness—that reflect Peter Richardson's laconic worldly look at people, places, and things. Although this is his first book, Richardson's work has been published in Descant, The Malahat Review, Poetry (Chicago), Press International, Queen's Quarterly, Southern Humanities Review, Wiscana Review and many other publications.

About the Author:

Peter Richardson was born in Norwal, Connecticut. Following army training at Fort Benning, he left for Montreal rather than report to Fort Lewis, Seattle, where he was to ship out for combat duty. He has worked as a ski instructor, and a farm labourer in British Columbia. For the past twenty-two years he has been employed by Air Canada as a ramp worker. A part-time French-English translator, he lives in Morin Heights, Quebec.
