8:17 pm, rue Darling

This is the story of a climactic moment in the life of Gerard, a self-proclaimed alcoholic. At precisely 8:17 pm, the building in which he lives on rue Darling in Montreal collapses, killing a number of the tenants. Because he was away at that time, Gerard escapes death. This event leads him to find out about those who died in the rubble. He begins a personal investigation to reconstruct the lives of the occupants. As a former investigative reporter for a major newspaper, it's something he knows how to do well.
