The Hebdomeros Suite with the Bronzino Poems

Presenting a culmination of surrealist exercises, this collection of poems is based on words and phrases from Hebdomeros, the only novel ever written by painter Giorgio de Chirico. Through an assortment of verse, the novel’s protagonist is transformed into an irascible mini-dictator ruling over an unruly realm—perhaps a metaphor for the Self—upon which he attempts to impose ideas of order and beauty. "The Hebdomerous Suite" is accompanied by "the Bronzino Poems," which draw from both accurate and purposefully erroneous interpretations of Deborah Parker’s book, Bronzino: Renaissance Painter and Poet.
