Exploring Social Insurance: Can a Dose of Europe Cure Canadian Health Care Finance?

Sustainability, quality, accessibility - is it possible to obtain a balance of all three in any health care system? In Canada, as in all OECD nations, governments are wrestling with this question as health care costs exert increasing pressure on the public purse. Several nations are seeking to diversify the sources of public funding by varying the mix of general taxation and social insurance.
