Administrators must create an environment that encourages safe behaviors from within, as well as recognize the potential dangers from without. Physical and sexual harassment, peer aggression, and random injuries are among the major concerns that principals face today. In order to deal with these effectively, school personnel must understand their legal responsibilities in the supervision and instruction of students, address the issue of bullying, and develop strategies to encourage healthy relationships among students.
