Precarious Work

In the wake of the 2008 recession, "work" underwent another transformation as the neoliberal state began to transfer responsibilities to corporations. Some scholars see precarity as the dominant motif, with underemployment, deskilling, and the absence of living wages becoming commonplace. With these changes, issues of power and authority are being reworked, or perhaps merely repackaged.
