Current through December 2003, the 4th edition contains new information on topics, including the Board of Accountancy code of professional conduct, context characterization, lease context versus sale of business context, personally binding or not, removal/joinder of defendants, ripeness for review, and specialized business courts. The texts of state covenant statutes are included, as are well as finding lists broken about by topic of questions with findings grouped by state, a case table, and indexes that list various kinds of cases by state, industry, and occupation, industry, and type of transaction. New cases are included that concern questions of first impression (Indiana), enforceability of fee-for-competition clauses (Kansas), the proper test of enforceability for franchise-context noncompetition covenants (Wisconsin), and covenant assignability where the employer retains a financial interest in a business sold to a successor employer (Pennsylvania).
