College student Steve Mackey's got murder on his mind, and professor Jeremy Whiting, PhD, is about to get his revenge.
Steve is a nature lover who has made a home of the upstate New York town where he studies. He finds solace in an abandoned hunting cabin in the area's dense forests, but whenever he craves some excitement, he also has a steady group of gay "townies" to mess around with.
Things change when he takes the Classical Civilization class of notoriously hated professor Jeremy Whiting. Dr. Whiting is drop-dead gorgeous - too bad he's a colossal bore in the few times he isn't being blatantly homophobic.
It doesn't take Steve long to decide the world would probably be better off without Jeremy Whiting, and comes up with a plan: lure him in, become his friend, and then when he least expects it, commit the Perfect Murder.
But the more time they spend together, the harder it is for Steve to do the deed. Can he really be falling in love with a man he loathes? Or even more shocking, can the outspoken homophobe be falling in love with Steve?
