Lori knows her life will never be the same again!

If only she could protect her children from the consequences of Jeff's decision. Her very heart aches, knowing she will have to deal with this unexpected threat to the physical and spiritual welfare of her family. "Lord," she cries out, "I can't deal with this! The burden is too great. I just want to crawl into bed and wake up tomorrow, knowing this was just a bad dream. How can I help the children when I feel so empty myself?"

She bows her head and wraps her arms around herself, feeling so cold and alone. Then she feels a warmth surrounding her like an embrace. She raises her eyes and sees a light coming into the room. She slowly moves to the window, opens the blinds, and sees a star brighter than any others in the sky with its rays extending down around the house like a protective blanket.

The above scene starts a journey this family takes when their world is torn apart. One evening, all seems well; then their safe, sheltered world is split open because the protector, the spiritual leader of their home, has let his guard down.

"Light out of Darkness is no fantasy novel! Ellen has done a masterful job of weaving a message of hope into the lives of family members who have endured the all too common, devastating effects of infidelity." -Jim Anderson, author, For God's Sake, Rest! and leader of Sabbath-rest retreats for pastoral couples and other ministry leaders

"This is a story of forgiveness. I would recommend this book to anyone who has gone through a family break-up." -Brian Erickson, Senior Pastor, Lakewood Free Church, Baxter, Minnesota
