Americas Global Responsibility

Ben-Aharon reminds readers of the founding vision of the United States and the obligations inherent in the ideals set forth in the Declaration of Independence. In a summary of today’s global social and economic conditions, Ben-Aharon points out the dire consequences of ignoring those obligations and explains how we can stop the destructive effects of globalization and introduce progressive social structures.

Using a concept developed first by Rudolf Steiner, Ben-Aharon begins with the individual human being and his or her full actualization—a process that America is historically and karmically destined to foster. He explains not only how we arrived at our current state of affairs, but how understanding America’s role in the development of global civil society will help us achieve cultural and spiritual freedom, political equality and economic cooperation in America and the world.

Yeshayahu (Jesaiah) Ben-Aharon was born in Israel in 1955. He co-founded Harduf, an anthroposophical kibbutz in Israel. He writes on artistic, scientific, and contemporary issues in Israeli newspapers, and is the author of The Spiritual Event of the Twentieth Century and The New Experience of the Supersensible.
