Breast Surgery

This work overviews changing paradigms for breast surgery, with chapters on surgical management of high-risk patients, image-guided needle breast biopsy, ductal carcinoma, breast conserving surgery, and sentinel lymph node biopsy. Other subjects discussed include the clinical significance of micrometastatic disease, the integration of neoadjuvant chemotherapy and surgery, special considerations when treating breast cancer in the elderly, and the surgeon's role in breast cancer chemoprevention. Breast reconstruction, in situ ablation of breast cancer, postgraduate training in breast surgery, and medicolegal implications of delayed diagnosis of breast cancer are also discussed.
