Rationing of Medical Services in Europe: An Empirical Study

In 2000, members of the European Union Rationing group assembled to begin their research project on the differences between the rationing of health care services in European countries. The findings are designed to inform further debate on harmonizing the health care systems and rationing methods in health care throughout the European Union, and to provide a comprehensive overview of the perception of different population groups in an international context; and how different population and occupational groups estimate the possibilities, forms, and limits of rationing in the near future.
