Garrison (political science, U. of Wyoming) analyzes the continuity and change in US policy towards China across 35 years, not only to explain the past, to also to provide tools to manage the present and future relationship with China more effectively. She also explores how the individual efforts of a core set of advisers shaped the decision making process regarding China from Nixon to Bush II to illustrate the complexity of the bureaucratic and policy interests at play.
