These Mountains

Award-winning Israeli poet Rivka Miriam was born in 1952 in Jerusalem. Daughter of the renowned Yiddish writer Leib Rochman and named for his mother and sister who perished in the Holocaust, Rivka Miriam is one of the most unusual and original artists writing today in the Hebrew language. Her first poetry collection was published in 1966, when she was 14. She has published twelve books of poetry, three collections of short stories, two children's books and a collection of autobiographical stories. Rivka Miriam has twice been the recipient of the Prime Ministers Award.
