This is a beautifully written travel memoir that takes place in 1971 when the world was a far different place.

Author Maxine Schur begins her journey from Berkeley and travels around the world in over two years as a honeymoon adventure with her husband. They leave California with very little money, their backpacks and set off with wide eyes and open hearts. It is during the early '70's when hippies were traveling with abandon, staying in youth hostels and camping along the Seine. But our author adds to the mystery by venturing into far reaching strange places and tells their story with amazing insight.
