This chubby-cheeked baby bearing a cake with a single candle is from the illustrator C. Twelvetrees, of whom we unfortunately know little except that he or she excelled at depicting adorable children on greeting cards and, in this case, calendars.  This card would make a perfect first birthday card, or for anyone who is "#1" in the giver's heart.
