I Never Fished with My Father

I Never Fished with My Father is the life story and family history of a Sicilian American. Born in Pittsburg, California, Neno began keeping a journal at the age of 8. Diligently documenting every significant event in his life. His father was a commercial fisherman and his mother a homemaker. Growing up in this household was no easy task. As a child Neno struggled with trying to fit in, staying true to his Sicilian heritage, and dealing with the prejudice that came along with being a Sicilian in America.

I Never Fished with My Father is an inside look into the real life story of a very traditional custom driven family turned upside down by their second born son, who refused to conform to what his heritage and father thought he should be. Neno broke away from his very opinionated, stubborn father, and lived his life his way. All along the way meeting some very eccentric and some not so eccentric characters who had a great influence on him and shaped who he is today.

I Never Fished with My Father, spans a multitude of decades. Starting at his birth through the 1990's and everything in between. This book will take you on an eclectic journey through births, deaths, marriages, divorce, the mob, war, customs, careers, and plenty of family drama.
