In Search of Sarah: A Time Traveler's Quandary

At age 18, time travel is the last thing on Scott McGregor's mind. It's 1967 and he has just learned that girlfriend Sarah Daniels is pregnant and wants an abortion knowing that a pre-Roe v. Wade world limits her options to one south of the border. Neither one anticipates how badly that option goes.

Six years later they part ways with the future Scott raising a family and conducting research in quantum biology at UC Berkeley. After his wife’s unfortunate passing, he takes stock of himself with a growing desire to learn what became of Sarah fifty years earlier. Learning her life has gone poorly as the botched abortion precludes her having a child she so badly wanted, Scott discovers his research may offer Sarah a solution when he is able to communicate with his younger self.

Spanning a half century, In Search of Sarah is a richly interwoven story of an aging man’s desire to better the life of his former girlfriend while assuaging his own guilt, a story culminating in a rapid fire succession of alternate realities that will leave the reader’s head spinning.
