Isaac Mizrahi

At only four years old, Isaac Mizrahi loved to watch his mother make and alter clothes. He never wanted things like bicycles and baseball mitts. Instead, he wanted to learn how to clip out pieces of fabric and stitch them together into garments. Going with his mother to New, York City department stores like Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue was also great fun for Mizrahi.

In 1987, when he was twenty-five, Mizrahi presented his first collection, and it was a hit among fashion editors and top retailers. Since then, Mizrahi has designed everything from clothes and furniture to potpourri and dog food, and his long list of clientele include MaDonna, Liza Minelli, and even First Lady Michelle Obama.
