Insect Pests Of A Small Vegetable Garden

Back in the early 1900s the earth was reckoned to have about 33,000,000 square miles of fertile land. How much of that we have made productive of edible vegetables is herein demonstrated on a mall scale, namely a wish for us all to make our own small vegetable gardens and to do so in the face of some six-legged competitors for the products. In fact that face can often be intriguing in itself, so here are a few of the more common insects which chew and suck at the tables we set up as Vegetable Gardens.

A number of studies have shown that placing crops in a diverse landscape is a way of staying reasonably free of challenging insects. Small neighborhood gardens can meet that criterion and so can lead us to contemplate the insects more as guests than marauders.
