Shaindi's Story

Shaindi was a happy little girl, playing with her brother in the garden in their small town of Zighet, deep in the Carpathian Mountains. But then, tragedy and war cause her to be taken away from her family the day before they are herded off to Auschwitz. In the next 8 years, living in Gyomore, Budapest, Bekescsaba, travelling to Germany, France, and Palestine, she must find the strength to survive constant hunger, bombings, abuse and neglect.
