Today we are pressured by many groups to cut back on the resources we use so the environment can be saved for future generations. However, other pressures of work and providing for our families often make these necessary cuts seem far away and irrelevant, and the spiral of greed and waste despoiling global ecologies seems to escalate every year.

But what if there was a way to tap into and motivate the deepest aspects of human nature so that our activities nurture and preserve the living environment, rather than destroy it? What if, in the process of applying a philosophy called "taking it back- finding it here" to the ways that people live, we could truly liberate the human spirit?

It is the author's strong belief that there is such a philosophy, that it can be pursued successfully, and that there are already many people around the world who in living by this philosophy's creed are beginning to live lightly on the Earth while living a meaningful and wholesome life.
