The Children Are Finally Safe

The fates of the volatile Middle East and superpower United States weave together. Jason Masters is the American counterintelligence expert driven by ghosts of his past. He is alarmed by the rise of a new and powerful Islamic cleric, Saladin. While Saladin preaches peace and understanding, he also has the ability to control a flood of fanatical followers. This warns of an impending terrorist threat Jason cannot ignore. Jem Bel, a devout Sunni and simple farmer, is caught in the turmoil. He suffers the inconsolable loss of his wife and children, too frequent among the inhabitants of the Middle East. His life is dramatically changed, and his own dedication to peace is sorely tested as he is recruited by terrorists. Jason engages Delia Landis, an exotic and beautiful woman, to help him penetrate Saladin's organization. While she is willing to help Jason, Delia is convinced of Saladin's goodwill. She also exerts an unnerving and wonderful effect on the rational and tightly controlled American. As Jason continues to investigate, he finds real danger to the United States from Saladin's followers, while Saladin himself may be a powerful proponent of peace.
